Mediation
If both parties are willing to try, mediation can be a valuable alternative method to settling many of the disputes that accompany a dissolution or divorce without having to resort to the often unpleasant nature of litigation or adversarial tactics. Mediation is not just for couples who split amicably. It can even work when spouses are very angry and contentious. Mediation can resolve issues including asset division, child support, child custody and spousal support (alimony).
Mediation’s chief benefits: It can save time, money, emotional strain and achieve mutually agreed upon outcomes as opposed to judicially imposed ones that often leave one or both parties bitter or dissatisfied.
When a Morck Family Law attorney serves as mediator, we do not represent either party so we encourage each party to work with a consulting attorney in order to be fully informed of all rights provided by the law.
Wendy Morck also is available to serve as a consulting counsel for mediated dissolutions. As a consulting counsel, Wendy can provide legal analysis of issues at hand, and alternative and creative settlement options. As a consulting attorney, the firm reviews and comments on the final documents which are drafted by the mediator.
